When we wake up, the world is here to greet us. It does not come a piece at a time. If are waking from a dream, the dream fades away quickly, barely a wisp of memory, like the stars that disappear when the sun comes up. Our day to day consciousness immediately starts its program: what do I have to do today? What time is it? What clothes shall I wear? On and On it goes. There is another form of consciousness, a higher form. Mantras and yantras are designed to awaken us to this state of being, beyond our waking consciousness. This awakening also comes to us complete as soon as we become aware of it. The yammering mind of programs fades as quickly as our dreams and we touch the pure nature of Being, where there is no separation, where realization of the wholeness of Self chases away the illusions of maya.
The chanting of mantras is part of an ancient practice known as nada yoga, the yoga of sound (vibration). As the mantras sink into you, the vibrations create new patterns of thought and feeling. Mana means thought; tra means tool. Mantras are the tools we can use for Awakening.

A rising from the deepest spark of self-awareness dwelling within us, the power of musical vibration can be transforming physically, emotionally and spiritually. Drawing on the ancient wisdom of India, using mantra and traditional Indian instruments like the santoor, veena, and tablas, and also incorporating modern instruments and recording technology, this music is designed to transcend boundaries of every nature.
Each song gathered here is designed to use the qualities of pitch, meter, and tambor to move vital energy (prana) through the chakras and create a peaceful space where the intrinsic powers of the body/mind/soul can function in unitive harmony.
The songs also function together to create a complete listening experience that is greater than the sum of its parts. Listening can be passive or interactive (by chanting each of the mantras out loud).
