There are many names for the Absolute. Ultimately, of course, the Absolute is beyond name and form, but chanting these names helps keep us aware of the Absolute nature that is at the core of our being. Chanting "hare rama" can induce a state of bliss, and it is said that if you are saying "Ram" at the time of your death, you are immediately absorbed back into the Absolute and freed from taking another body.
